  • Fighting active blemishes and preventing future breakouts.
  • Controlling excess oil production.

The combined 32% concentration of AHAs and BHA provides a comprehensive exfoliation that targets both surface imperfections and pore congestion. To mitigate the potential irritation from such a high acid concentration, The Ordinary has included several soothing and beneficial ingredients:

• Tasmanian Pepperberry Derivative (Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract): This powerful botanical extract acts as an anti-irritant, helping to reduce redness and inflammation often associated with strong acid treatments.
• Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer: A modified form of hyaluronic acid that provides enhanced hydration to the skin’s uppermost layers, helping to keep the skin comfortable and prevent excessive dryness post-peel.
• Vitamin B5 (Panthenol): Known for its moisturizing, soothing, and skin-repairing properties, it aids in the skin’s healing process.
• Black Carrot (Daucus Carota Sativa Extract): Provides antioxidant benefits, protecting the skin from environmental damage.

The solution has a pH of approximately 3.6, which is carefully formulated to ensure optimal acid availability and effectiveness while minimizing irritation. It is free from alcohol, oil, silicones, and gluten, and is also vegan and cruelty-free.

How to Use:

1. Preparation: This product must be applied to thoroughly clean and dry skin. Do not use on wet skin, as this can increase penetration and lead to irritation.
2. Frequency: Use ideally in the evening, no more frequently than twice per week. For beginners or those unsure, starting with once a week is highly recommended.
3. Application:
   • After cleansing and ensuring your skin is completely dry, apply a small, even layer across your face and neck using your fingertips.
   • Crucially, avoid the eye contour and direct contact with eyes, as well as any broken, sensitive, or peeling skin.
4. Timing: Leave the solution on for no more than 10 minutes. Set a timer! Leaving it on for longer will not enhance results and significantly increases the risk of severe irritation or chemical burns.
5. Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Ensure all product is completely removed from the skin. Avoid scrubbing.
6. Post-Peel Care: Follow up with hydrating and soothing products (e.g., hyaluronic acid serum, a gentle moisturizer). Avoid using other strong actives (like retinoids, other direct acids, or Vitamin C) in the same routine or on consecutive days following the peel.
7. Sun Protection: This product contains AHAs and BHA that significantly increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily when using this product and for at least a week afterwards, and limit sun exposure.
8. Patch Test: Always perform a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area (e.g., behind the ear or on the inner forearm) 24-48 hours before full facial application to check for any negative reactions.
